GPS tracking of a deer

Info | MapCode | Large Map | Save this map | myMap | Edit | KML

In the above map you see the momentary position and the track of ”Solomon”, a young deer which strolls around near Philadelphia, USA. The young deer was provided with a GPS collar which transmits its present position via GSM to a computer. The website of this project is maintained by the biologists Eugene Potapov and Fredrik Bryntesson from the Bryn Athyn College.

The KML-file which is automatically put in the Web by Eugene Potapov is included in the above wikimap via a KML networklink.

Notes:

  • Maybe the young deer has already left the above field of view. You can scroll and zoom to find him. If you can't find him, look at the project website. The map there is automatically centered to the deer's momentary position.
  • You can switch to a 3D-view by pressing the “Earth” button.
